After a tearful video featuring the Mexican flag, Selena Gomez responds to a Republican politician who claims she should be deported
One day prior, Gomez posted a heartbreaking video in which she said, “All my people are getting attacked, the children… I’d like to do something, but I’m unable to.

After uploading an emotional video that seemed to respond to President Donald Trump’s latest immigration crackdown earlier this week, Selena Gomez criticized a Republican congressman who said she should be deported.
Sam Parker, a 2018 Republican Senate candidate from Utah, tweeted on X, “Deport Selena Gomez,” after critiquing her video on his personal account on X shortly after it was uploaded. The 32-year-old Emilia Pérez star replied to Parker on Instagram.

She wrote, “Oh, Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker,” over a black backdrop in a post on her Instagram Stories. I like the threat and the laugh.
Gomez appears to have responded to the latest wave of deportations in the United States with a few words in a since-deleted video that she published on her Instagram Stories. She typed “I’m sorry” and a Mexican flag emoji in text overlaying the video.

In the video, she stated, “All of my people, the children, are being attacked.” “I don’t comprehend. I apologize; I wish I could do anything, but I am unable to. I have no idea what to do. I swear, I’ll try everything.
She commented over a black backdrop in a subsequent post, “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
