Prince William and Kate Middleton share exciting news while she visits the hospital where she received cancer treatment

On Tuesday, January 14, the Princess of Wales paid a visit to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have come to a heartfelt decision together.

The facility where Kate, 43, got cancer treatment for a large portion of 2024 is being patronized by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Kate and William have joined the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust as joint patrons, Kensington Palace announced on Tuesday, January 14.

Since his appointment as president in 2007, which had been previously held by his late mother, Princess Diana, William, 42, has maintained a close engagement with the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.

As the patronage was revealed, Princess Kate paid a visit to the hospital on Tuesday.

According to a Kensington Palace spokesperson, the unexpected visit was intended to “show her gratitude to the incredible team” at the medical center. It was Kate’s first public solo engagement since 2023 and one of the few she had since receiving her diagnosis.

“We were honored to welcome Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales to the Royal Marsden in Chelsea this morning, and we are delighted that Her Royal Highness is now joining His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales in becoming Joint Patrons of our specialist cancer center,” said Dame Cally Palmer, chief executive of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, in reference to Kate’s visit.
