While fall is in full swing on the East Coast, Selena Gomez is helping to keep the spirit of summer alive on Instagram. Today, the singer was featured on the Instagram account of swimwеar brand La’Mariette, modeling the Caroline biкini top.
She looks sun-kissed and stunning with four white flowers in her hair:
The line was co-founded by Gomez’s friend and former assistant Theresa Mingus, and this isn’t Gomez’s first appearance as a model for the brand.
Gomez went viral after posting a photo of herself in the brand’s Selena one-piece showing off her kidney scar: In a photo posted to the brand’s Instagram on September 4, she also modeled the Caroline biкini top and bottom:
Mingus, who shot Gomez in the one-piece, spoke to ELLE.com earlier this month about the shoot. “Oh, it felt so good,” Mingus said of seeing Gomez feel so empowered in La’Mariette’s one-piece.
“It’s amusing because I took the photograph. She was certain of what she wanted to do. That was the first photograph I ever took of her. That was the first of ten that I took. ‘That’s it,’ she said.”
“‘I want to talk about my scar,’ she said. I want it to be organic. I want it to be natural.'” Mingus went on.
“And that was the suit she preferred. We had been on set for her all day when she said to me, ‘Hey, I think we should go home and do a little photo shoot after this.’ And I said, ‘OK, fine with me.’ She’s just so helpful.”
Mingus told ELLE.com that the “Day Trip” print of the biкini Gomez is wearing in the new photo was inspired by a trip Gomez and Mingus took together to Newport Beach.
“We [Selena and I] were vintage shopping and we found all these cool suits,” Mingus said. ‘You need to do a suit like this or a pattern like this,’ she said. Then we had a fantastic day on the boat. It was a lot of fun,
but that was always in the back of my mind. I didn’t want to do it [at the time] because the timing wasn’t right. I knew it would be fantastic if we did it correctly.”
