Ryan Reynolds argues in defense of being mentioned in the awards discussion for his role as Deadpool
“Thrive backstopped by real emotion, and both are deeply subjective,” he stated of both comedy and drama.

Ryan Reynolds is defending the comedy acting craft.
Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, which pairs actors to discuss their viral performances throughout awards season, revealed that the Deadpool & Wolverine star was one of the participants selected.
Reynolds, 48, was paired with Andrew Garfield, who costarred with Florence Pugh in the romance movie We Live in Time.

Reynolds defended comic acting as equally difficult when someone on X made fun of the notion of him addressing the foul-mouthed Marvel superhero as Garfield talked about the project’s emotional cancer-related themes.
“Andrew is a genius. In WE LIVE IN TIME, he and Florence work like magic together. He started his post on X with, “They’re charming and heartbreaking, and they spend the entire film in a high-wire act of humanity and constraint.” “And yes I am Deadpool BUT I will take a second and speak up in defense of comedy.”

“It’s challenging to do dramatic work. Additionally, we’re supposed to SEE that it’s challenging, which contributes to its visceral and potent feeling,” Reynolds went on. “Comedy is also really challenging. However, it has an extra depth because it’s supposed to feel and appear natural. The sewing and unstitching are purposefully concealed.
Reynolds claimed that “both disciplines are beautiful” after costarring with friend Hugh Jackman in this year’s highly anticipated superhero sequel.
