Salma Hayek Considers the Honor of Bearing the French Olympic Flame

“As I passed the torch and took part in the relay, I was proud to represent the enduring spirit of the Olympics,” remarked Hayek.

Salma Hayek, who took part in the Olympic Torch Relay, is bursting with pride. Days remain before the 2024 Paris Olympics get underway.

Hayek, 57, was one of the 175 torchbearers who carried the torch on Tuesday from Rambouillet to Versailles.

On Wednesday, July 24, the actress shared a collection of images and videos from the Château de Versailles house on Instagram,

reflecting on the historic occasion and referring to it as a “honor.” Along with pictures of herself in her ceremonial clothes, Hayek also provided pictures of herself with French soccer player Presnel Kimpembe, politician Rachida Dati, and singer/actor Patrick Bruel.

“I had the privilege of carrying the Olympic flame yesterday, which stands for unity, light, hope, and peace.

She stated, “Know that you were with me every step of the way if you believe in these values.”

“I was honored to represent the Olympic legacy, offering hope, light, and unity to everyone as I passed the torch and participated in the relay. Olympic Games, Paris, 2024.”

Torchbearers are “selected based on their commitment, dedication and how they embody at least one of the core tenets of Paris 2024,” which include “sports and the Games,” “communities,” and “the collective,” according to the official Olympic website.
