Cameron Diaz attributes the ‘Big Thing’ in his marriage to Benji Madden to therapy! That’s what we rely on
Cameron Diaz talked candidly about her “100 percent commitment” to her marriage in an interview with her brother-in-law Joel Madden.
The secret to Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden’s successful marriage is coming to light.
The 52-year-old actress-entrepreneur spoke openly to her brother-in-law Joel Madden on the Wednesday, December 11th, episode of his Artist Friendly podcast, citing treatment as a key component of their relationship.
“In our family, therapy is very important,” she remarked, laughing. “That is what we rely on.”
Joel, 45, who married Nicole Richie in 2010, concurred: “Very much.”Regular couples therapy, according to Diaz, strengthens “that commitment to work on” a marriage.
“Avoid doing the same thing repeatedly and try to determine whether doing it again will work this time.” Asking yourself, “Why didn’t it work?” How can I get it to work? What do I do? What is the work of the other person?
She noted that couples can “go into the next attempt a little bit more equipped to hopefully come out with a different outcome” by discussing disagreements and problems with an outside expert.
Benji, 45, and the Back in Action actor have a child together, Raddix and Cardinal.
Regarding their relationship, she informed Joel, “You can’t be married and have a family if both people are not 100 percent every day.” Nobody can be 100 and someone else be 99.
