On December 1, the former presenter of the Ellen DeGeneres Show paid homage to her wife, commemorating 20 years since their relationship began.
Ellen posted a selfie of herself and Portia in the countryside to Instagram along with the caption, “20 years ago today we began this relationship,” not thinking what a long, lovely trip this would be.
The comedian referred to her 2008 marriage to the Ally McBeal alum as the “best thing that ever happened” in her life.
Ellen wrote, “You take care of me,” “You enable me to find the positive side of everything. You support and encourage me when I’m feeling low or unhappy. I am so thankful to have you as a companion to help me navigate this crazy world since you are a wonderful soul. My spouse. My closest companion. My life’s love. I appreciate you loving me and being who you are.
The elderly gentleman continued, “So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.”
