Kelly Clarkson shares her children’s true feelings about her dating life! Mom needs love too
The singer and her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock have two children together.
The fact that Kelly Clarkson is dating again has not exactly thrilled her children.
The 42-year-old singer of “Behind These Hazel Eyes” told KOST 103.5 that she’s “enjoying being single” right now, but that her two children, River, 10, and Remington “Remy,” 8, whom she shares with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, aren’t excited about her taking a tentative step back into dating.
“They constantly bring it up, ‘Please, we don’t want you with anybody else,'” Clarkson said. “They’re young, it’s hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”Clarkson stated that she has been enjoying being single, but she will not be following her children’s desires.
“I have expressed like, ‘Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs lovings too,'” Clarkson said.
Clarkson, who divorced Blackstock in 2020, previously disclosed that her two children were distressed by their parents’ separation.
After going through her divorce, singer Angie Martinez stated in a March 2023 edition of her IRL podcast that she has made it a habit to check in with her children and assess their emotions.
