Maria Menounos talks about how she and her husband got their 17 monthold daughter, Athena, into the holiday spirit in a festive way
Menounos describes her joyous trip with spouse Keven Undergaro and their child in a personal essay.

My favorite time of year is during the holidays. ‘Cupcakes and Cocktails’ party, It’s a Wonderful Life viewing party, watching every classic Christmas special, and decorating on November 1st are all yearly rituals that my husband Kev and I have followed for decades.
I have appeared in Christmas films ever since I was invited to do so for the first time before seeing the screenplay. Kev and I went so far as to start We Heart Holidays, a film studio dedicated solely to making holiday films. Why, pray tell? The holidays are about more than just celebrating and remembering the past.

Many of us only get to see select friends and loved ones during the holidays. Regardless of your beliefs, it’s also the most universal time of year for happiness, thankfulness, and giving. And although while I wish these feelings could be expressed all year round, I value how much they are heightened by the season. That’s why I put up my tree the day after Halloween and encourage others to follow suit.

However, we are establishing new customs as first-time parents of a 17-month-old. Although we did let Athena see Frosty, she is a few years away from watching Christmas movies and MANY years away from any gatherings that feature distilled Christmas drinks.
