Nick Jonas is praising Selena Gomez, whom he dated during their adolescence, for receiving two Golden Globe nominations in 2025.

This building is only for nice ex-partners.

After Selena Gomez, whom he had dated as a youth, was nominated for two 2025 Golden Globes for her performances in the new movie Emilia Pérez and season four of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, Nick Jonas voiced his support for her.

Having a fellow Disney alumnus receive such accolades is a “tremendous thing,” the Jonas Brothers singer said in an interview with Variety on December 12. “I think that’s a real testament to Disney’s ability to find and foster talent and understand what makes someone unique while finding a way to make it happen,” she added.

In the aughts, Selena starred on the cable network’s Wizards of Waverly Place, while the 32-year-old starred in the Disney Channel series Jonas and the Camp Rock films alongside siblings Joe and Kevin Jonas and Demi Lovato. At the same time, Miley Cyrus, his other ex-girlfriend, became well-known with Hannah Montana and was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2025 for her song in The Last Showgirl.

Additionally, Nick considers Disney to be a “creative school.”

“I was between the ages of 14 and 18, which is my high school years,” Nick said. “Miley, Selena, and Demi’s graduating class was all of us growing up together, and you can honestly see how successful we’ve all been and how long our careers have lasted.”
