Fortunately, our family is secure. In a video update, Patrick O’Neal stated, “The dogs are, too.”
The Pacific Palisades Fire destroyed his father’s house in Malibu, California, leaving “just ash and bricks” behind, according to Patrick O’Neal, son of the late Ryan O’Neal. On Monday, January 13, Patrick, 57, returned to his house for the first time since the wildfires and attempted to make sense of the chaos he had once called home.
Patrick O’Neal told a Getty Images photographer, “I’m trying to figure out where I am in the house,” according to CBS News. “I believe I’m in my father’s restroom. Sincerely, I have no idea what I’m searching for; I suppose I’m just trying to make sense of everything. Nothing is there.
In a prior video statement sent to social media on Friday, January 10, Patrick stated that their family’s home caught fire during the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
“I would want to offer my condolences to everyone who has been severely impacted by the fires in Los Angeles County. Thousands of homes have been lost. In a joint post with FanDuel Sports Network West, the sportscaster stated,
“We have lost our family home in Malibu, so our family has also been impacted.”Patrick thanked everyone for their support as the film shifted to various shots of the destruction.
Fortunately, our family is secure. “The dogs are, too,” he added, urging anyone who could give to those in need to do so.
