With her few remarks regarding her ex-fiance Aaron Rodgers, Shailene Woodley is being frank.
In an interview with Outside magazine that was released on Tuesday, December 3, the Divergent actress stated that “I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry.”
The 33-year-old Woodley continued, “It was wrong. However, it was stunning.
Just over a year after going public with their relationship, Woodley and the 41-year-old NFL quarterback called off their engagement, according to a February 2022 PEOPLE report. In April of that year, the on-off couple split up once more.
Although she did not specifically name Rodgers, Woodley stated in other parts of the Outside interview that she “had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022,” which resulted in a depressive episode that lasted roughly six months.
“I felt as though I had lost my happiness, joy, soul, and self.” The Big Little Lies star claimed that she remained in a “toxic situation” at the time because “empathy kind of kept me in this loop of feeling everything for everyone.” She also said, “I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment.”
The stylist Kris Zero, her best friend, supported her throughout the “lowest low of my life,” she remembered.
