Another pop artist, Chappell Roan, makes an incredibly ideal appearance in Sabrina Carpenter’s new Netflix holiday special.
Classic Christmas tunes and the singer’s recent songs are featured in A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter, which was released on the streaming service on Friday, December 6. Additionally, Roan, 26, and Carpenter, 25, perform the Wham! holiday classic “Last Christmas” together at one point in the special.
Wearing matching green velvet skirts and white furs, the pair moves around a stage that resembles the conclusion of a wild house party as they belt out the 1984 song.
Jason Sherwood, the show’s set designer, stated in an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment that the vocalists of “Espresso” and “HOT TO GO” were solely responsible for the creative direction of their duet.
“We asked ourselves, ‘What’s the time? On the large staircase, are they? He recalled, “Is it this big performative thing?” Both of them returned to the team with the thought, “We want to do something that feels a little more informal [and] kind of chill.”
Sherwood went on to say that they “trashed” the initially “pristine and beautiful” living room décor to make it appear as though a wild night had come to an end. “This idea of it being the end of a party came through,” she added.
