When the Silkwood actor began dating their mother, Goldie Hawn, in the 1980s, the siblings declined his offer to adopt them officially.
Oliver revealed on the November 24 episode of his and Kate’s Sibling Revelry podcast, “Kurt entered my life when I was six years old and he basically raised me.” “There was a moment when he asked us—myself and Kate—if we wanted to be adopted, and we said no.”
Oliver recalled telling Kurt, “Well, we don’t need it,” but he claimed that he and the Almost Famous actress, whose biological father is Bill Hudson, probably turned down the offer because they were too young to understand “what it even f–king meant” to be adopted. Right there is the love.
“There’s no doubt that he is my dad,” Oliver continued. “I call him Pa.”The Splitting Up Together star does, however, believe that, with his father absent, his younger self was unable to discover another “side” of the family.
