Amanda Seyfried brought all of the sultry 1920s beauty to the Met Gala in 2023.
The Dropout actress hit the red carpet tonight in a stunning bare gown custom-made for her by Oscar de la Renta.
The naked, translucent minidress had a corset bodice and gold strands cascading from her neck to her thighs. She accessorised with a stacked gold necklace that complimented the garment wonderfully.
The actress kept her outfit monochrome by wearing golden heeled sandals, gold hoop earrings and rings, and a gold mani-pedi.
Seyfried accessorised the flapper-style gown with a huge curled haircut, a glittering burgundy smoky eye, and a strong raspberry lip.
Tonight’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honours the late Chanel design director’s life and legacy.
The exhibition at the Costume Institute will feature approximately 150 of Lagerfeld’s designs as well as some of his sketches, both of which “underscore his complex creative process and collaborative relationships with his premiers, or head seamstresses.”
According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, “Lagerfeld’s fluid lines united his designs for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld, creating a diverse and prolific body of work unparalleled in the history of fashion.”
The exhibition will focus “on the designer’s stylistic vocabulary as expressed in aesthetic themes that appear time and again in his fashions from the 1950s to his final collection in 2019, the show will spotlight the German-born designer’s unique working methodology,” according to the organisers.
