Blake Lively exposes alleged smear campaign by subpoenaing Justin Baldoni’s phone records
Lively requested that the subpoenas “expose the people, tactics, and methods that have worked to ‘destroy’ and ‘bury’ her reputation and family over the past year”
In an attempt to “expose” the purported smear campaign the It Ends with Us director waged against Blake Lively, her attorneys are requesting the phone logs of Justin Baldoni and his accomplices.
In a complaint filed in December, Lively, 37, accused Baldoni, 41, and others of se xual harassment and starting a purportedly retaliatory public slander campaign.
In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit in January against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane, and Sloan’s public relations agency. The lawsuit made a number of accusations, including defamation and civil extortion. Trial in the matter of Lively v. Wayfarer Studios et al. is set for
On Wednesday, February 12, Lively’s attorneys, Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, told persons that Lively had submitted subpoenas to “expose the people, tactics, and methods that have worked to ‘destroy’ and ‘bury’ her reputation and family over the past year.”
Freedman responded to the subpoenas by telling PEOPLE that while they are a “normal part of the litigation process,” Lively’s attorneys are requesting something “extraordinary.”
According to Freedman’s statement, “they are requesting all calls, texts, data logs, and even real-time location information for the last two and a half years, regardless of the sender, recipient, or subject matter.” This enormous fishing trip shows how urgently they are looking for any solid evidence to support their demonstrably untrue statements. They won’t discover any.
