Jamie Lee Curtis’s barefaced selfie honors friend Pamela Anderson’s no makeup movement
‘The Last Showgirl’, starring Curtis and Anderson, opens in theaters nationwide on January 10 after first appearing in select locations on December 13.

In honor of her co-star Pamela Anderson of The Last Showgirl’s makeup-free campaign, the actress celebrated her 66th birthday on Friday, November 22, by posting a barefaced Instagram photo.
“Selfie right out of the shower. Paying tribute to @pamelaanderson @lastshowgirl and her self-reliance without makeup. sober. powerful. She replied, “Stay on,” referring to the trend that started when Anderson, 57, showed up for the Isabel Marant Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024 presentation during Paris Fashion Week without wearing makeup.

As she struggles emotionally, Shelley tries to get back in touch with her daughter, whom she barely knows, which is as challenging as losing her one and only job. Shelley must find her place in a world that she closed the (stage) door on years ago, according to the synopsis. She is supported by her best friend Annette [Curtis], a brazen cocktail server who laughs a bit too loudly and too frequently.

Curtis also lauded Anderson at the film’s September Toronto International Film Festival debut, telling PEOPLE that Anderson “did the movie because she was going to be in the movie.”As she told PEOPLE about Anderson, Curtis overcame scheduling issues to be a part of the movie.
