As the stars work with celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser to dissolve their two-year marriage, a source told People that their current divorce ‘has the potential to get ugly’ because they did not sign a prenuptial agreement.
According to the source, ‘there are some sticking points about financials’ between the celebrity, 55, and two-time Oscar winner, 52, who eloped at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Lopez’s divorce filing, which identified their separation date as April 26, 2024, stated that their assets were ‘unknown.
According to California state law, only the income and assets produced during their brief marriage are ‘considered community property and susceptible to distribution.’ This includes the Beverly Hills property they bought for $60.8 million last year, as well as several projects and sponsors.hips they’ve done since their wedding.
