After appearing on Clayton Echard’s season and finishing as one of his final three women, the Denver native made headlines. Gabby’s journey for love began as the former football star’s ended in March 2022, alongside co-leading lady Rachel Recchia.
“We’ve been through the most crazy experience together,” Rachel told fans during the Bachelor finale’s live portion. “I’m a girls’ girl through and through,” Gabby continued, “so having a friend by my side is the best thing I could have asked for.”
Gabby’s sense of humor and quick wit won over viewers long before she was announced as one of the Bachelorettes. They also praised the former Denver Broncos cheerleader for confronting Clayton on national television after he broke up with her.
“I don’t think he’s being fair right now,” she revealed during the season 26 finale of The Bachelor. “I don’t think you tell multiple women that you love them thinking there will be no consequences, knowing that there are steps along the way that we must go through. “The woman I walk out with is the woman I love the most,” he says. “Wrong f-king answer.”
Gabby not only told Clayton he couldn’t walk her out, but she also had the opportunity to express her feelings when they met face-to-face on the ABC stage shortly after their breakup aired.
“Before watching it back, I truly felt we were on our own journey… but watching it back, everything is muddled, and you were clearly pitting us against each other,” Gabby explained. “It appeared to be a competition, which I had told you I didn’t want to be a part of.”
During The Bachelorette season 19, fans followed Gabby on her quest for love. After dating a few eligible bachelors alongside Rachel, the Dancing With the Stars alum proposed to Erich Schwer at the season’s end.
While the couple appeared to be in love after the show’s September 2022 finale, which was filmed that May, they called off their engagement two months later.
Gabby and Erich “weren’t aligned or on the same page,” a source told E! News at the time.
“Gabby was hoping they could give each other space and work it out, but they ultimately decided they didn’t have a future,” the insider added.
Erich went public with his new girlfriend, Elizabeth Turner, on Valentine’s Day 2023, following their divorce.
