Sam looks very alive in this outfit among the gray mass. How good is that!
Sam Smith cut a glamorous figure as they shot their new music video at former royal residence Ashridge House in Hertfordshire on Sunday.
The singer, 30, is currently working on a new album to be released in January and was spotted landing in a helicopter to film scenes for a mystery music video.
Sam, who uses they/them pronouns, made sure to capture attention in an extravagant pink tulle ruffled gown with huge puffed sleeves and a dramatic train.
They completed their look with vibrant pink trousers and a pair of colour-coordinated trainers as they were seen walking across the grounds of the stately home.
The non-binary star styled their bleached blonde locks in natural curls and accessorised their look with statement gold heart earrings.
They were seen having a cigarette in-between takes at Ashridge House, which was the home to Dukes and Earls of Bridgewater for 245 years and was used by Henry VII.
Sam showed off their moves in their show-stopping ensemble along with back-up dancers and singers, who wore period-style costumes including ruffled dresses, silver capes and feathered hats.
The group of back-up stars were seen surrounding Sam as they sang and danced in front of a huge spotlight, as a cameraman took close-up shots of the scenes.
Sam was also seen landing at the stunning location in a helicopter, while the exterior of the country estate was also lit up with green and red lights.
It is not known which song the music video was for, but Sam recently announced that their new album Gloria will be released on January 27, 2023.
It comes after it was claimed that Sam caused quite a stir by hiring former royal residence Ashridge House to reportedly film the X-Rated S&M themed music video.
He allegedly filmed the video while part of the stately home was still open to the public as a tourist attraction, with a source saying older visitors were ‘shocked’.
An insider told The Sun: ‘There were plenty of older folk enjoying a walk in the grounds when a load of geezers in leather turned up in all sorts.
‘It probably nearly gave a few of them a heart attack. They were absolutely shocked.
‘Some of the staff at the house had to try to usher the dancers through discretely, and move the visitors through another part of the estate to avoid creating a scene. It was very funny,’ they explained.
According to the publication, guests of the country house were treated to ‘spectacular views’ and got an inside glimpse at the music video as scantily-clad extras arrived on set.
Ashridge House has been the backdrop for a number of other music videos, including Skepta’s song Nirvana, Tion Wayne Ft. Davido & Jae5’s song Who’s True and Geri Horner’s The Queen Speaks.
MailOnline contacted representatives of Sam Smith and Ashridge House for comment at the time.
Sam recently took to Instagram to announce their new album, penning: ‘Dearest sailors. I am overjoyed to announce that my fourth album is called ‘GLORIA’.
‘It will be yours on the 27th January 2023, and you can pre-order now. I’m feeling overwhelmed and emotional as I start to let go of Gloria and hand this work over to you.’
‘It has been magical in every way to make this piece of music and by giving this record to you I am giving you part of my heart and soul. Gloria got me through some dark times and was a beacon for me in my life. I hope it can be that for you. Thank you for waiting so long. Only a few months now. Sam x’
