Sydney Sweeney was no stranger to the spotlight when she landed a role in the HBO series Euphoria.
The blonde beauty has been in the spotlight for years, having been in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and the star-studded blockbuster Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – and fans love seeing her in a bikini!
Sydney has always been keen to flaunt her trim body, whether at the beach or by the pool. However, she has been subjected to body shamers throughout her adolescence and adult years.
In a February 2022 interview with GQ, the White Lotus star stated she was chastised for the scars on her body, which she attributed to her athletic lifestyle.
“I had someone tell me once that it was [someone’s] mother… “I’m an extremely active person,” she began. “I get wounded and bruised. I suffered cuts after returning from laser tag, and I had rug burns all over my legs because I was so into it.
And mom propped me up on the counter and told me that if I have markings on my body, no boy will ever love me.”
Despite the harsh remark, Sydney responded, “Well, I guess I’m just gonna have to love myself.” And, while she doesn’t need a guy to lean on, she is happily engaged to Jonathan Davino, her longtime boyfriend.
Because the entertainment industry can be brutal, the trained MMA fighter recounted a casting director telling her she would “never be on a TV show” because she didn’t have the “right look.”
“Now, I’m on some of the biggest TV shows in the world,” Sydney continued.
Aside from her physical beauty, she discussed how having other occupations and pastimes helped her preserve financial independence. She owns her own production firm, attends business school, and even fixes old vehicles herself.
“I’ve experienced a way of life that I don’t want to live, and I don’t want my future children to have to go through the same struggles or see me stress in the same way that my parents did,” Sydney explained.
“I want to show younger generations that you can achieve anything, even if you don’t have the means or connections.”
Sydney’s inner power clearly plays a significant impact in her personality and physicality.
