Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have revealed fresh information about the process used to create the engagement ring for the soon-to-be bride.

Two months after announcing their engagement on Instagram on December 11, 2024, the couple shared their thoughts on the sparkler in their first joint interview with Interview magazine.

In what many fans thought was a reference to Gomez’s song “Good for You,” in which she sings, “I’m a marquise diamond,” Blanco, 36, proposed to her with a rock that had a stunning marquise diamond set on an eternity band.

“That’s the diamond I’ve always dreamed of since the ‘Good for You’ days — that was, gosh, so many years ago,” Gomez said.

“All I did was try not to f— up.” I only did that,” Blanco continued. Gomez said that she wasn’t “anal” about the appearance of her ring in the run-up to the big event. But her fiancé, a music producer, acknowledged that she changed her mind once.
