A painful situation! Jessica Simpson and husband Eric Johnson have split after ten years of marriage

Eric Johnson and Jessica Simpson are taking some time apart. After ten years of marriage, the 44-year-old singer and actress and her 45-year-old ex-NFL player husband are divorcing, Simpson exclusively tells PEOPLE.
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told PEOPLE in a statement. “We are concentrating on what is best for our children, who come first.
We value privacy at this time as we work through this as a family and are thankful for all of the love and support that has been shown to us.”
Less than a week has passed since Simpson, who is married to Johnson and has three children together, reminded her fans on Instagram that “life is short” with a smiling selfie. While you still have teeth, smile.
In November, at the same time Simpson hinted at her “comeback” to music with a mysterious Instagram post that included pictures of herself in a recording studio, Johnson was seen without his wedding ring.
As she captioned the photos, “Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” “This is a personal comeback. It’s a self-apology for enduring everything I didn’t deserve.”
Days later, a source informed PEOPLE that the singer of “With You” and her spouse “very much live separate lives.”
