Anne Hathaway has been cast in the film Verity, which is based on Colleen Hoover’s popular TikTok book and is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
The CoHo film universe is welcoming Anne Hathaway. Colleen Hoover, the author of the terrifying novel Verity, stated on Instagram on November 20 that the Princess Diaries star had been cast in the film adaptation.
Michael Showalter, the director of The Big Sick, who starred Hathaway in 2024’s The Idea of You, another book-to-movie adaptation, will head the movie.
According to some sources, Hathaway will portray fictional novelist Verity Crawford in the Amazon MGM Studios film this time.
Following a mysterious catastrophe that prevents Verity from finishing her best-selling villain series, her husband Jeremy Crawford enlists aspiring writer Lowen Ashleigh to write the remaining books.
However, Lowen discovers a number of Verity’s family secrets while studying the books, which causes her to doubt reality.
No other casting has been disclosed, including for the roles of Jeremy and Lowen.
Alongside Hathaway and Showalter, the Verity team also features screenwriter Nick Antosca, who wrote the suspenseful films Candy (featuring Jessica Biel as Candy Montgomery) and The Act (starring Joey King as Gypsy Rose Blanchard). And Hoover herself is the most ecstatic.
“Verity is coming to theaters and I am so excited for this cast and the script and the director and the whole team bringing this to life,” the writer posted to Instagram. “I can’t wait. There will be more shortly.
