Blake Lively had a great day despite being nervous to return to the spotlight at SNL 50th due to a legal battle

“It was nice getting out of the house and being around friends and familiar faces,” according to a source.

As her legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues, Blake Lively made a red carpet comeback.

On Sunday, February 16, the actress went to New York City to watch the star-studded live taping of SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

In their first public appearance together since she sued her It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni, Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds came with Paul Feig, director of Another Simple Favor.

“They had a great time,” said a source to PEOPLE. “It was nice getting out of the house and being around friends and familiar faces.”

According to the source, Lively, 37, was “excited to be out with friends and support Saturday Night Live” for its milestone year, despite being “nervous” about taking center stage again. (The sketch series was presented by Lively in 2009.)

“They stayed after the live show wrapped and mingled in the studio and were talking with everyone from Ben Stiller to Paul McCartney,” according to a source.

“They also talked with Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks. Blake spoke with Dakota Johnson as well.

In a social media video, Lively also gave Amy Schumer a hug when they reconnected at the event. “It sounded like she was lending support,” the source adds, following Schumer’s December online shared “I believe Blake” remark.
