Serena van der Woodsen in real life! It’s no secret that Blake Lively is one of Hollywood’s most glamorous A-listers, and she’s rocked some fierce brаless outfits throughout the years.
The lifelong actress, who is married to husband Ryan Reynolds, does not hire a stylist. Blake actually dresses herself!
“It’s a lot of work [but] I mean, it’s not hard in the sense that we all dress ourselves every morning,” the Los Angeles native told Women’s Wear Daily in a March 2018 interview.
“Once you have the clothes, you simply choose what to wear like any other human being.” But it’s easier because you have clothes, so it’s not as difficult.
The difficult part is going through all of the fashion shows, screenshotting all of the outfits you like, and then calling them in,” Blake continued. “I have an assistant who assists me with calling in the looks.” But a lot of it is because I know the designers.”
While the A Simple Favour star adores fashion, she also enjoys being in command! “I have control issues and a big ego—that’s probably the honest answer [for why I won’t hire a stylist],” she jokingly said.
“I just like it,” Blake said. “I enjoy design and fashion because it allows me to express myself creatively.”
My job allows me to be creative, but it takes time and involves many other people, but this has a beginning, middle, and end, and I get to be creative and there is an end date in the near future.
The self-proclaimed “creative” is interested in “design” and “fashion,” but she also enjoys working on a project from start to finish. “It’s the same reason I enjoy doing my friends’ hair and makeup or cooking — you get to be creative while finishing something.”
“Whereas with my job, you do it and then it’s done two years later,” Blake explained.”It probably goes back to the control issues; it’s like, ‘OK, I did it, I completed it, it’s done!'”
