On Tuesday, August 27, O’Neill, 78, made a special appearance on Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s podcast, MeSsy. During the episode, the two talked about their experiences working on the beloved sitcom Married… with Children. The 52-year-old actress from Dead to Me disclosed to them that O’Neill essentially “raised her.”
Applegate said, “I don’t even know how to explain this person,” while presenting her TV dad on the show. I was raised by him, so it’s his fault if you don’t like anything about me.”
“If you do like anything about me, it’s also his fault,” she joked. Applegate continued, “Years years of my life spent with this man and he’s an incredible actor, he’s an incredible human being.”
From 1987 to 1997, Applegate and O’Neill portrayed Kelly and Al Bundy, respectively, on Fox’s Married… with Children. David Faustino played Bud, the couple’s son, and Katey Sagal played Peggy, Al’s wife, in the television series.
