In a Halloween photo shoot with a purple rain theme, Beyoncé channels Prince and Apollonia and goes topless
On November 1, the artist wrote, “PURPLE NASTY,” as the description for an Instagram photo.
For Halloween, Beyoncé is honoring Prince’s Purple Rain!
In an Instagram post on November 1, the 43-year-old Grammy winner turned herself into the late music great, as well as Apollonia, the singer and actress who played opposite Prince in the 1984 rock musical.
In some of the other pictures, Beyoncé, sporting a neatly styled wig, wore Prince’s famous purple coat and boots from the film, holding a matching guitar.In other photos, the “Crazy in Love” singer resembled Apollonia while wearing a bodysuit and black blazer. In one, she even wore nothing on her head.
On Instagram that same day, Beyoncé posted additional pictures of herself in costume as singer and former Miles Davis wife Betty Davis.

With the caption, “BETTY DAVIS IN MY BONE,” the singer wrote.Fans believe Beyoncé is hinting at the theme of her upcoming album, which will be the third in a planned trilogy, based on her recent tributes to the rock stars.
The first was the singer’s 2022 album Renaissance, and the second was Cowboy Carter, which came out in March.Beyoncé disclosed in a March Instagram post that Cowboy Carter was motivated by “an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed,” whereas Renaissance examined themes of resiliency, pride, and joy.
