Leighton Meester plays Kristen Bell’s nemesis in Nobody Wants This Season 2, with her husband Adam Brody

Season 2 of the popular Netflix series will feature an on-screen reunion of the real-life couple.

Leighton Meester is coming for your (her?) boyfriend, so get ready, Kristen Bell.

According to PEOPLE, the 38-year-old actress will appear as a guest role in Nobody Wants This season 2. After 2023’s River Wild and Brody’s prior recurrent part on her former ABC sitcom Single Parents, this role will be the most recent time she and her real-life husband Adam Brody will appear together on film.

The former Gossip Girl star will portray Abby, Bell’s character Joanne’s middle school rival who is now a “Instagram mommy influencer,” according to Variety. There are other new members of the cast besides her. Miles Fowler will be appearing as a guest star, the publication also stated.

The Bottoms alum is a member of Brody’s character’s basketball team, the Matzah Ballers, and will portray Morgan, Justine Lupe’s character’s possible love interest.

After receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews upon its September release, the Netflix series was swiftly extended for a second season. According to actor Jackie Tohn, work on the next installment started immediately, and production is scheduled to start in March.

Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody) are at a crossroads in their relationship after the season 1 finale, with Joanne admitting she is hesitant to convert to Judaism. Noah, who is eager to become head rabbi, finds this to be rather non-negotiable.

The pair kissed as the episode came to a close, but it’s unknown what will happen to them next.
