Amid the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, Miley Cyrus shared a heartbreaking message about her own experience of losing her and ex Liam Hemsworth’s Malibu home in 2018.

Miley Cyrus is looking back at a painful time.
Amid the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires, the “Flowers” singer reflected on her own experience of losing her former Malibu home—which she shared with ex Liam Hemsworth—to a wildfire in 2018.

Alongside a black-and-white image featuring debris from her house shared to her Instagram Stories Jan. 11, Miley wrote,
“This image hits me hard in the heart today. This is a photo taken of my front porch in 2018 after losing our house in the Woolsey fires. It’s a feeling you don’t ever forget.”

“Walking up to the door you would pass through daily,” the 32-year-old continued, “looking forward to being greeted by the ones you love like you always do but instead being met by a pile of ash and rubble.”
Miley went on to share the heartbreak she feels for those who have been affected by the current tragedy.
