Los Angeles we stand with you! Beyoncé donates $2.5 million to fire relief funds in Los Angeles

On Sunday, January 12, Beyonce’s public charitable foundation, BeyGOOD, made the donation public on Instagram.

Beyoncé has made a sizable donation to help the neighborhoods in Los Angeles that are being sadly impacted by the recent wildfires.

The singer’s BeyGOOD organization said on Instagram on Sunday, January 12, that she was contributing $2.5 million to an L.A. Fire Relief Fund established by her charity.

“Los Angeles, we support you. 🫶🏽” was the post’s caption. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing a 2.5 million dollar donation to the LA Fire Relief Fund.”

The caption went on to say, “The fund is designated to assist churches and community centers to meet the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires, as well as to families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes.”

She encouraged people to learn more about her public charity organization, which she established in 2013, and to “show your support for the impacted families” by visiting the BeyGOOD website.

The contribution was made after the L.A. County Medical Examiner announced on Sunday night that the number of fatalities from the destructive wildfires had increased to 24.

According to the Medical Examiner, eight of the deceased were located near the Palisades, and 16 were in the Eaton fire zone.At least 16 individuals have been reported missing since the flames started on Tuesday, January 7, according to a news conference held by Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, as reported by The New York Times.

With 11% containment, the Palisades fire alone has burned almost 23,000 acres.
