Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomez’s mother, presented her to Benny Blanco, her fiancé! Before he liked me, I liked him
Blanco, a music producer, revealed that he was “oblivious” to Gomez’s love interest in him.
In Selena Gomez’s relationship with her fiancé Benny Blanco, her mother acted as a kind of matchmaker.
The 32-year-old singer and actress and 36-year-old music producer talked candidly about how Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, initially connected them in their first joint interview with Interview magazine, which was released on February 14.
Gomez recalled meeting Blanco, whom she became engaged to in December 2024, at the age of 16.
Blanco went on to say that Gomez’s mother had arranged for them to meet so they could talk about music.Blanco continued to the site, “And we had music come out first in 2013 or something.”
“Her mother arranged for us to meet up. She wasn’t yet a vocalist at the time I rose to fame.
Mandy, 48, oversaw Gomez’s career for eight years while she became well-known on the Disney Channel alongside her stepfather, Brian Teefey.
I was really like her music when she first started releasing it. Blanco said of Gomez’s stint at Disney Records, “I think she was the original sad girl.” In response to everyone’s [beatboxing], she said, “I just want to look good for you.” [laughs] I found it appealing.Gomez continued by describing how, as they were working on a song together, she began to feel something for her partner.
