Melissa Joan Hart claims that her seven siblings and her family were supported financially by her early acting jobs

The actress from ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ is the eldest of eight children.

Melissa Joan Hart is simply the big sister to her seven siblings, despite the fact that she is well known to many as Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

In a recent interview, Hart, 48, was questioned about her experience growing up as the oldest sibling and whether she had ever suffered what has been referred to as “eldest daughter syndrome” by presenters Andie Mitchell and Sabrina Kohlberg on ABC Audio’s Pop Culture Moms podcast.

The actress from Clarissa Explains It All also related to the idea of feeling the obligations and expectations of being the firstborn child, even if she was unaware of the phenomena.

Hart said, “I felt like I had to act in a certain way to set an example for them.” “You know, the money I made from acting jobs, commercials, and Clarissa always went to the family.”

“When I got older, some people were like, ‘Oh, that’s not right.'” I got to go pick out a Barbie. “You ought to have retained your funds,” she continued. And I said to myself,

“You know, I would rather put food on the table and make sure my siblings got nice clothes and bicycles for Christmas. Thus, I had a strong desire to take responsibility for them.
