22 years after her historic win, Halle Berry returns to her iconic sheer gown from the 2002 Oscars
At a celebration honoring the brand’s 45th anniversary, the actress donned the Elie Saab gown.

Halle Berry never goes out of style.
The 58-year-old actress wore the same classic sheer Elie Saab gown she wore to the 2002 Oscars, twenty-two years after her historic win. Berry was the first Black woman to win Best Actress for her performance in Monster’s Ball in 2001. Additionally, it was the actress’s first Oscar victory.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Berry wore the same outfit to the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, reenacting the unforgettable evening. Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, Nancy Stewart, and other celebrities performed at the event, which commemorated the brand’s 45th anniversary.

In the gorgeous gown, which had a silky asymmetrical skirt and a mesh bodice with floral appliqués, Berry looked as dazzling as ever. She wore her hair in a sleek top knot and accessorized it with a pair of large ruby earrings.

Following the Saudi Arabia show, Berry posted a video of her runway moment to Instagram with the caption, “Some life events simply happen and eternally alter our lives! For me, one of those occasions was winning an Academy Award while wearing my @eliesaabworld gown! Since we have been inseparable for 22 years, I am grateful that Mr. Saab has been a part of my life’s fabric. Celebrating you and your 1001 seasons was an honor for me.
