Adele has announced that she has decided to quit music! Is that really true?

In an interview with German publication ‘ZDF,’ the pop sensation said that she will pursue other creative ventures.

Adele’s fans should not expect new songs anytime soon.

During an interview with German station ZDF on Sunday, July 14, the 36-year-old “Skyfall” singer revealed that she will be working on “other creative things” instead of music for a bit.

“I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” says Adele. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

She then stated, “I don’t enjoy being famous. I love that I can compose music all the time.”

Adele has taken her time between albums throughout the years.

Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008, followed by 21 in 2011, her third studio album, 25 in 2015, and her fourth, 30, in 2021.

Adele told The Hollywood Reporter in December 2023 that she “hadn’t even thought about” making new music.

“I have to wait for a feeling,” the singer-songwriter explained to the outlet. “If I get antsy, that’s when I know I have to go to the studio, and I am the opposite of antsy right now.”

In terms of other creative pursuits, Adele claimed there is only one movie role she would ever desire, but “the guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it.”
