After 325 days in the hospital, a teenage girl is given tickets to Taylor Swift’s show in Indianapolis as a surprise
Following her involvement in an automobile accident in December 2023, Brilea Southard spent nearly a year in the hospital.
After another motorist struck her family’s minivan head-on, Brilea Southard has been in the hospital for 325 days, recuperating from serious injuries.
The 15-year-old was not expected to be released for another month, but following a surprise announcement, she will make her first appearance outside the hospital in a memorable way: on Sunday, November 3, she will be attending Taylor Swift’s third Eras Tour show in Indianapolis, the last Swift performance in the Indiana capital.
The 34-year-old Swift’s sold-out tour will be enjoyed by more people than just Southard.
Fifteen other patients who are receiving treatment for various health issues at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis will join the adolescent.
This week, the 16 pediatric patients learned the news at the hospital, where they believed they were only there to play “Taylor Trivia” and create friendship bracelets inspired by Swift.
The major surprise was disclosed in the final trivia question. The hospital employee said, “Who will be at Taylor’s final event on the last leg of her U.S. tour in Indianapolis?
“Well… “Travis Kelce?” a patient speculated. “Good guess but no,” they stated. “You all will be going!”
While other girls gasped and started crying with delight, one girl leaped out of her chair with excitement.
