Angelina Jolie claims she once paid a hitman to ki ll her
According to Angelina Jolie, she attempted suicide once by hiring a hitman. Although the Oscar-winning actress enjoyed great success in the 2000s, she was dealing with serious mental health problems behind the scenes.
Jolie, who was only 22 years old at the time, made the decision to look for an assassin to assist her in her troubles.
“This is going to sound insane but there was a time I was going to hire somebody to kill me,” she told IMDB in 2001, speaking about this terrifying event, as reported by The Mirror.
In a 2003 interview with The Face, the Tomb Raider actress divulged more details about her search for the hitman.
“In New York, they’re not that difficult to locate.”I was very aware that so many people around me, like my mother, would feel as though they didn’t give enough or do enough if I’d taken my own life,” she continued, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“So my solution to that was if someone else had taken my life – like in a ‘robbery’ – then it would be murder and it wouldn’t be that anyone would feel they’d let me down.”
Jolie said she had “planned to take out cash over a certain amount of time, so there wasn’t a big chunk in my bank account” .
