Anne Hathaway says miracles happen in response to the Princess Diaries 3 announcement

According to one Genovian royal, she will appear in the third installment.

“Back to Genovia!” is where Anne Hathaway is going.

In a new Instagram video posted on Friday, October 4, the 41-year-old Oscar winner responded to the announcement that The Princess Diaries 3 is officially occurring. Hours after director Adele Lim told Variety that a third part of the film series was in production, the Devil Wears Prada star responded.

Hathaway shared a video of herself stating, “One,” while relaxing outside and holding up one finger. A snippet of her from the first movie exclaiming, “Shut up,” in reaction to the revelation that her character Mia Thermopolis is the Princess of Genovia, came next.

A second clip of her saying, “Two,” while holding up two fingers, was then cut. This time, a sequence featuring her on-screen grandma Julie Andrews yelling, “Shut up!” came after her.

Hathaway holds up three fingers and says, “Three,” before adding, “Shut up,” as the video comes to a close. The song “Miracles Happen (When You Believe)” by Myra, which was featured in the first movie, then starts playing in the footage.

“Miracles occur. With @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures, we’re back in Genovia. “The fairy tale goes on,” Hathaway wrote as the video’s caption.Hathaway’s comment area was overrun by others, including Kelly Clarkson, who wrote, “Already seated queen.” “Breakaway,” the fifth single from the American Idol alum, was the first song on the soundtrack of the second movie.
