Bob Newhart admitted who he sees as himself before he diеs
On July 18, Newhart died at the age of 94 at his Los Angeles home, following a series of short illnesses.
Before his tragic death, Bob Newhart declared Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson his preferred choice to play him in a biopic.
During an interview on Conan in January 2021, host Conan O’Brien mentioned the late comedian’s illustrious Hollywood career and questioned who Newhart would choose to play him if he made a film about his life.
“I think The Rock,” Newhart remarked. “I often get mistaken for him. People will say, ‘Hey Dwayne,’ and I’ll answer, ‘No, I’m not!’ But there should be a big fight over it.”
After O’Brien joked that The Rock would do an excellent job representing his “early football career,” Newhart laughed and remarked, “Brad Pitt is supposed to be very interested.”
On Thursday, July 18, Newhart’s publicist, Jerry Digney, confirmed in a press release acquired by PEOPLE that the actor had died at his Los Angeles home after a series of brief illnesses. He was 94.
