Britney Spears says she was confused by Sabrina Carpenter’s kissing an alien
Carpenter cited “Oops!…I Did It Again” as an homage to Spears during her VMAs performance.

Britney Spears is a fan of Sabrina Carpenter’s 2024 MTV Video Music Awards tribute, which was brief yet heartwarming. At the VMAs on Wednesday, September 11, Carpenter, 25, sang a medley of her current songs, which included “Please Please Please,” “Espresso,” and “Taste.”
The famous spoken interlude from Spears’ timeless “Oops!…I Did It Again” was played in the backdrop. A tribute to Spears, whose “Oops!” music video depicted a trip to Mars, the pop star’s set featured astronauts and aliens.

Despite claiming in a Sept. 12 Instagram post that she didn’t watch the VMAs, Spears, 42, did watch Carpenter’s performance on YouTube.
She felt honored even if she had doubts about the singer’s on-stage smooch with an alien. Why is she onstage kissing an alien? I love her so much. I will always adore her.

That was a section I didn’t grasp. Why didn’t she give a girl a kiss? Spears stated, probably alluding to her well-known kiss with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs. That was peculiar. However, I also felt that everything about it was a little strange.
The singer of “Toxic” claimed that she “took a really long bath” and colored, which is currently her favorite past time, after watching. Spears remarked, “I thought it was kind of cool that this Sabrina girl said my name on the red carpet because I forget I’m famous sometimes.”
