Country singer Rory Feek remarried, many years after his wife left

Country musician Rory Feek revealed that he married his daughter’s teacher eight years after the loss of his wife Joey Feek from cervical cancer.

Rory Feek is saying “I do” to a new chapter.

Eight years after his wife and musical partner Joey Feek died of cervical cancer, the “One Angel” singer announced that he has remarried his 10-year-old daughter Indiana’s teacher and family friend, Rebecca.

The couple married on July 14 under a “timber-frame pavilion here in Greycliff, Montana,” Rory wrote on his blog about the occasion. And, as the 59-year-old revealed, while he and Rebecca had been dating for some time, their marriage was entirely due to his daughter.

“We knew marriage was a possibility,” Rory explained, “but neither of us felt comfortable discussing it seriously. Mostly because up until that time, Indiana only knew Rebecca as ‘Miss Rebecca, her schoolteacher, and our friend.”

Fortunately for the couple, Indiana approached Rebecca with an idea in “late March” while they were spending time together on Rory’s farm.”They came back in the kitchen,” the musician—who was married to Joey for 14 years before her death at 40—reported, “and Rebecca said, ‘Rory, Indiana just asked me something that I think you need to hear.'”

“I asked Indy, and she told me that she said, ‘Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa,'” he explained.
