Exactly the same tragedy! Cameron called the cause of the catastrophe bathyscaphe
The director is horrified by the similarity of the two stories.
James Cameron has directed many iconic blockbusters. Among them is a disaster film about the sinking of the Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Cameron himself went down to the sunken liner more than once to repeat its appearance in his picture.
He saw the ship so often that, according to him, he spent more time on the ship than his captain did that ill-fated evening. But the story of the bathyscaphe “Titan” so horrified Cameron that he did not stay away from the comments.
The director called the bathyscaphe a toy for adults, the unsafe use of which was known to some engineers. They contacted the company, explaining the risk of operating it. However, no one in the organization listened to their advice.
“And now, exactly the same tragedy is being played out, where the warnings were not heeded. Also in the same place!” Cameron admitted on ABCNews.
“Titan” stopped communicating on June 18. Inside it were five people who wanted to see the ship that sank in 1912. The wreckage of the bathyscaphe was discovered three days later, 500 meters from the Titanic resting on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
Experts believe that the device exploded inward due to pressure at depth. Conspiracy theorists believe that some kind of curse is to blame, because the wife of the owner of the company is a descendant of an elderly couple who died on the Titanic. She was also featured in a James Cameron film.
