Following backlash, Whoopi Goldberg defends her claim that the bakery refused to hire her! Looks a Little Strange
“Somehow they were able to accept an order of a different 48 of the same dessert when somebody else called without using my name,” the co-host of the “View” said. According to the bakery owner, “boiler issues” were the reason it was rejected.

Whoopi Goldberg is reiterating her allegation that a bakery would not produce the confections she attempted to get for her birthday.
The TV personality started an Instagram video on Thursday, November 14, by saying, “It looks like there is a lot of discussion about the dessert I requested for my birthday show.”

On The View, Goldberg celebrated her 69th birthday the day before with a platter of Charlotte Russe sweets. She said that the bakery had turned down her first order because of her “politics.”
Entertainment Weekly identified the company as Holtermann’s Bakery in Staten Island and quoted the owner refuting Goldberg’s claim, even though the Sister Act star did not name the shop.

As she stated in the follow-up video, “It does seem a little odd that when we called a few weeks before my birthday and we were told they couldn’t process the order for my birthday because of an equipment failure.” “But when someone else called without mentioning my name, they managed to accept an order for a different 48 of the same dessert.”She did not, however, allow the incident to spoil her memorable day.
“It’s all right, everyone, because I had a wonderful birthday and I loved my sweet dessert,” she remarked. “That’s the best there is.”
