I had no intention of taking in an infant squirrel, yet here I was at 2:00 a.m., feeding this little thing baby food by injection.

An explo young rat scraped and chattered at my downstairs window, seeking its mother. I raced out to keep it off of the road when I saw it turn and head towards the street.

Instead of following my toes back to the farm, it jumped onto my sandals and stuck there. I had been legally adopted.

We attempted to entice its mom using directions from the web, but she did not return. We brought it in and care for it while looking for a better environment for it.

Never in my life have I seen a baby squirrel! It was not cute, but it was also personable and had a character that I’d never expected from a rat.

Oh, and they have a lot of ‘grip’ to them! I watch squirrels climbing trees with ease, but you never get a feeling of how amazing and easy their grasp is!

As he crept up our shirts and into our sweatshirts in search of a warm bed, “Little Tree” attached to us like velcro.

I’m a bridal and lifestyle family and baby photographer based in Montreal. I couldn’t resist doing a different style of the baby photo shoot!

I tried to give Little Twig his limelight in front of the cameras because he has such a large character and is so lovely while he’s asleep.
