In an emotional video, Jessica Alba surprises her parents by purchasing her father’s childhood home
In her most recent YouTube video, Alba informed her father, “Now the house that you grew up in, Dad, is yours.”
Jessica Alba is talking about the touching time she gave her parents a gift that would soon be renovated—but it wasn’t just any house!
The actress of Trigger Warning, who co-hosts the Roku Original series Honest Renovations with Lizzy Mathis, posted a video on her YouTube account on Friday, August 30, detailing a “special renovation” that the two of them were responsible for, namely her father’s boyhood house.
“I started working on the project of my dreams over three years ago. I bought my parents a house as a surprise! Now, it wasn’t just any house; it was very sentimental because my father was raised in my grandfather’s home.
“My parents intended to sell the house when my grandfather passed away so that the proceeds could be used to cover my grandmother’s medical expenses.
Okay, so… I had intended to buy it for them all along, but I feigned that I was going to assist them in flipping it before selling.” Given that her grandma needs care around-the-clock, Alba disclosed in the video that the family home would “be put up for sale.”
Consequently, she made the decision to renovate it with the assistance of Mathis and Tinku, a family friend who also happens to be a builder. In a segment of the film shot in June 2021 and released this week, Alba announced the news to her parents after demolishing the house and locking down layout designs.
