In the past six years, Kathy Bates claims to have lost 100 pounds! It seems like I haven’t been this trim since college
The 76-year-old actress expressed her shame at having allowed herself to become so unfit in the past.
Kathy Bates claims that being lighter has really benefited her acting career.
After years of being cast in supporting roles, the 76-year-old recently spoke with Variety in an interview that was published on September 11. She expressed her delight about starring in the upcoming CBS series Matlock.
She claims that even though starring in a broadcast drama requires a lot of endurance, her steady weight loss has prepared her for the task.
She told the source, “I’ve lost 100 pounds over the last six or seven years, and it’s helped me tremendously.” “I don’t think I’ve looked this good since college.”
Bates revealed that in 2011, when appearing in the NBC program Harry’s Law, she was actually at her heaviest. She said, “I had to sit down whenever I could.” “I had trouble walking. I feel bad for allowing myself to become so unfit, but I am so much more energetic today.
The actress talked to Extra back in 2019 about her weight loss of sixty pounds and the realization that it was time to change her way of life. She stated, “I really didn’t want to live with diabetes because it runs in my family,” and that she was now “in the best health I’ve been in years and I’m so grateful — it’s a miracle.”
