Kamala Harris leaves her debate watch party while the man by Taylor Swift is playing
“Hard work is good work and we will win,” the U.S. vice president told her supporters before exiting the stage to Swift’s track
After Taylor Swift officially backed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race, the Democratic candidate was seen exiting her debate watch party to a notable song from the singer.
In a video posted to Instagram on Sept. 10, Harris, 59, was filmed walking off stage at the watch party to Swift’s feminist anthem “The Man” after wrapping her first debate with former President Donald Trump.
“Hard work is good work and we will win, we will win,” Harris told a crowd including Douglas Emhoff as they began cheering and clapping.
“See you later,” the vice president added with a wave as she started leaving the stage.
The chorus of Swift’s track then started playing with the lyrics, “I’m so sick of running as fast as I can / Wondering if I’d get there quicker if I was a man,”
and Harris was seen giving high fives to supporters gathered at the side of the stage.
