Kristen and Dax celebrate the Fourth of july by telling their kids grandma’s life story
“The greatest location on Earth is this country. Although there are issues, Shepard informed his girls, “We are extremely fortunate to have been born here.” This Fourth of July, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are instilling in their children the value of hard work.

The 43-year-old mother of two posted a video of her 49-year-old husband addressing their two children about their grandmother’s transformation from janitor to company owner on Thursday, July 4.
She was unemployed at all. “She went to work as a janitor, mopping floors and cleaning toilets,” Shepard said to Delta, 9, and Lincoln, 11, while they were riding in the car.
The CHiPs star talked to his girls—who were audible just in the background of the film but did not appear—about how their grandma used to work “midnights” and “sleep in the daytime” in order to advance to a managerial role.
After that, she launched her own company, and by the time it was all over, she employed dozens and dozens of people in three stores—one each in Detroit, Texas, and Chicago—having begun as a cleaner.
Not everywhere is that possible. Shepard remarked, “You can almost do that anywhere.” Bell continued to film as Shepard spoke to the children about his modest upbringing in a “single-wide trailer” and his current residence with his family, which is “a big ol’ house.”
