Folie à Deux on Monday, September 30, the Grammy winner, 38, exclusively tells PEOPLE about collaborating with her fiancé on her latest studio album, Harlequin — which also acts as a companion album to the film.
Polanksy, 41, served as co-executive producer on the project alongside Gaga. “This is the first time we’ve decided to go all in and do it. “It just felt right,” she exclusively tells PEOPLE about their partnership.
“We were both so excited,” she continues. “We were all warmed up and ready to go.” Gaga also tells PEOPLE how much she admires Polansky. “I just love my fiancé so much,” she says.
“He is my best friend.” He’s my partner, and I believe that when you’re with your closest friend, everything changes. Polansky is recognized as Gaga’s co-writer on several Harlequin songs, including “Good Morning,” “Get Happy,”
“Oh, When the Saints,” and “If My Friends Could See Me Now.” His contributions include standards and show tunes that have been sonically and lyrically enhanced.
The 13-track album is entirely composed of covers, with the exception of two original songs, “Happy Mistake” and “Folie à Deux.”
