Officially in the works is a biopic of Britney Spears based on her memoir, The Woman in Me

Following a “highly competitive auction,” Universal Pictures revealed on August 1 that it had acquired the rights to the pop star’s bestselling 2023 book,
The Woman in Me. Marc Platt will produce, while Jon M. Chu, the director of Wicked, will helm the camera. As of yet, no casting announcements have been made public.

The “Toxic” singer’s first-ever memoir was released on October 24, 2023, and it includes a wealth of information about her prior romances, experiences during her conservatorship, and ascent to fame.

The audiobook version of The Woman in Me was narrated by Michelle Williams, and Spears recorded the introduction. Spears earlier stated in a statement, “This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it.”

“To put it mildly, reliving everything has been thrilling, heartbreaking, and emotionally charged. I will only be reading a portion of my audiobook because of those reasons.”
